The local government unit of San Carlos City held its annual tree planting activity on July 4 in Barangay Prosperidad.
At least 2,000 pieces of 6 endemic trees were planted namely Nara, Bangkal, Ulayan, Molave, Tugas and Dao by different local and national offices, organizations and private stakeholders.
San Carlos City Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo, Vice Mayor Christopher Paul Carmona, First District Representative Gerardo P. Valmayor Jr. and Sangguniang Panlungsod members Jose Carlos L. Villarante, Armando L. Laguda Jr. and Mark E. Cui also joined said activity along with other personnel from various offices.
Forest Ranger Rogelio Dela Torre, City Environment Management Office (CEMO) Forestry Division said the activity will not only conserve nature but also rehabilitate the water reservoir which somehow experienced sudden drop of supply in the area.
Said activity is part of the 62nd Charter Anniversary Celebration of the city of San Carlos.
