In September, inflation-adjusted wages were 19.4% to 26.1% lower than the current daily minimum wages across the regions in the country. Meanwhile, in peso terms, real wages were lower by around P80.35 to P144.21 from the current daily minimum wages set by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board*.

*A Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) is a government body in the Philippines responsible for setting regional minimum wage rates, promoting productivity, and protecting workers' rights. It is mandated to conduct research and consider factors like the cost of living and worker needs when determining wages. The RTWPB is under the supervision of the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) (NWPC), which is an attached agency of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)
